In order to add a new one to its strategic investments in the field of artificial intelligence, Google has accelerated its investment negotiations with the artificial intelligence initiative called Character.AI.
According to information provided to Reuters by two reliable sources, it is stated that Google, one of Alphabet’s leading companies, is seeking capital for its rapidly growing artificial intelligence chatbot initiative and is in talks about investing in Character.AI company for this purpose.
According to a third source, the investment could be structured in the form of convertible bonds and could strengthen Character.AI’s partnership with Google by deepening existing collaboration.
Character.AI was founded by former Google employees Noam Shazeer and Daniel De Freitas and offers a platform that allows people to create their own AI assistants and interact with virtual versions of celebrities.
Although the platform can be used for free, users can benefit from an advantageous model by paying a monthly subscription fee of $9.99 when they want to skip virtual queues and access private chatbots.
